2. Fire Emergency Preparedness

อัปเดตเมื่อ 16 ก.ย. 2562

Thankfully, hotel fires are a rare occurrence. However, we need to be ready to respond if a fire does occur at this hotel. To be prepared, follow these rules:

1. Respond to all alarms as if they are real. A delay of even a few minutes can have devastating consequences.

2. If you are unsure of your role during a fire emergency, ask your supervisor for the specific procedures that you are expected to follow. Know where the procedures for your department are posted within the hotel.

3. In addition to knowing your responsibilities in an emergency, you must also practice these procedures so that they become instinctive. When you are asked to participate in a fire drill, please understand its importance and fully participate. The people who know and practice their procedures will be in a much better position to reduce the impact of an emergency.

4. In a rare occurrence, you may be the first to discover a fire or other emergency situation. If you are the first to discover a fire, use C.A.R.E.:

  • Contain the fire by closing doors.

  • Activate the fire alarm at the nearest manual break glass points.

  • Report the location of the fire to PBX or the front desk using a house phone, a guestroom phone, or a radio.

  • Evacuate the area.

5. Know where emergency equipment is located. Fire extinguishers are located so that you are always within 75 feet (25m) of one. Be familiar with the location of all exit doors and fire alarm pull stations. If you have questions about the location of emergency equipment or how to operate it, please be sure to ask your supervisor.

6. Exit doors should never be locked or secured in a way that could prevent egress. They should remain free of obstructions and should only be secured through the use of panic hardware. Exits should be clearly labeled. Care should be taken to ensure directional arrows lead to the exit.

7. If an emergency occurs at this property, it is likely that representatives from the media will arrive to cover the event. If you are ever approached by the media while at work and asked to answer a few questions or provide a statement, you must politely decline to answer and inform them that you are not authorized to make any statements.
